Premiere Rieju Aventura 500 with Honda heart
The new Rieju Aventura uses the same 500cc Loncin block as the Honda CB500X, but it's a real adventure bike.
Rieju showed how the new Honda Transalp should have been done. Of course, the brand has plenty of experiences from the past to know how to build a real adventurer. The Spanish company was founded in 1934 and has been manufacturing motorcycles since 1953. But after they committed themselves to the enduro/supermoto direction in the 70s (typically in the small block segment), the fresh Aventura 500 presented now will be their first motorcycle produced for a wider audience.
We compare it to the above mentioned Transalp here (instead of any other medium-sized touring enduros), because Rieju's first big engine is strongly Honda-related. The block comes from Loncin and is easily recognizable as the same block used in the CB500X. Its output is 47 horsepower, peak torque 43 Nm and its consumption can be considered legendarily low. This really makes a difference because the Rieju Aventura 500 has two fuel tanks. One was traditionally placed above the block and one in the subframe. The total capacity of the two is 30 liters, which means that, based on factory data, the range of the engine is 950 kilometers. The off-road goals of the bike are easy to see: 21-inch rims in the front and 18-inch rims in the rear, which can be fitted with regular cam tires. The belly armor is decent, and the handguards are massive, too. The price of the Aventura 500 has been set at €8,000, which is roughly the level of the CB500X and the Benelli TRK502.
