Premiere The all new Honda Hornet is back
Honda finally introduced the new Honda Hornet at Intermot in Köln. This wonderful naked bike is officially named the CB750 Hornet and according tho the datasheet, it seems to be a very mobile and easy to handle machine.
The new Hornet broke with the old traditions and got a two-cylinder in-line block with 92 horsepower (at 9500 RPM) and a maximum torque of 75 Nm (at 7250). This power is produced by the 755 cc engine and it only has to move a weight of 190 kgs. Honda engineers used a 270-degree crankshaft camber, which gave the two-cylinder a unique characteristic. The CB750 inherited the pistons from the Fireblade and the cylinder head from the CRF450R.
The block is received by a 16.6-kilogram steel bridge frame, a 41-millimeter Showa SFF-BPTM inverted fork is placed in front, with separate functions, so one leg is responsible for springing, the other for damping, and the lower and upper bracket are newly developed. The rear strut has a Pro-Link rocker system, its preload is adjustable, and the steel swingarm is completely new. The spring travel is 130 and 150 millimeters. Stopping is assisted by two 296-millimeter discs at the front with four-piston, radially fixed Nissin calipers, and a single-piston caliper combined with a 240 disc at the rear.
The most important data is displayed in front of the driver on a five-inch TFT display, and it is now possible to connect not only Android-based smartphones but also iOS-based smartphones to it. The lighting is entirely LED, the indexes turn off automatically, and the automatic emergency flasher is included as standard. There are also three selectable driving programs, which vary the level combinations of the engine power, the engine brake and the torque regulator equipped with a one-wheel brake, and in User mode, the rider can decide on the operating level of the driving support devices.
For an additional fee, you can also order a Sport package including a quick shifter and a windshield, a Touring package with a tank and a saddle bag, and a Style package that also includes an aluminum handlebar end and clamp.
